No further Barcelona offer for Borussia Dortmund's Ousmane Dembele

No further Barcelona offer for Borussia Dortmund's Ousmane Dembele

Sokratis Papastathopoulos urged his young team-mate to remember that "no player is bigger than the team", and Castro has also admitted to being disheartened by his actions.

The Barcelona-target did not show up for a training session with the Bundesliga club earlier this week as speculation intensifies over a possible move to the Camp Nou.

Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has strongly denied Barcelona's claims of being close to signing Ousmane Dembele, joking that the Catalans are "dizzy" from being hammered by Real Madrid.

After the £200m sale of Neymar, Barcelona are looking to replace the Brazil global and Dembele has been lined up as a potential alternative after impressing in his first season for Borussia Dortmund.

"Everyone needs to understand that he has to work for the team and fall in line".

Gabon global Aubameyang had also hoped to leave Dortmund this summer, but a lack of the right offer has kept him at the Westfalenstadion.

He missed Saturday's 4-0 win at minnows Rielasingen-Arlen in the first round of the German Cup when Gabon hot-shot Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a hat-trick.

"Auba could also imagine leaving the club, but is professional and gives it his all in every training and every match", Sokratis said. "He should not forget that he still has a long-term contract at Dortmund".

"It's hard to tell [if there's a way back]".

"At first he has to get in touch with us again and come to training". He is a player who makes the difference and we need players like that. We'll see after that.

"But we also need players who don't shut themselves out and who want to be part of our family".
