Manchester United v West Ham United Preview

Former Chelsea striker Hernan Crespo believes Manchester United will win the Premier League thanks to manager Jose Mourinho and Romelu Lukaku. "Winning everything! We are Manchester United and we want to get back to being the big Manchester United", he said ahead of their clash with West Ham this weekend.

Mourinho's optimism is based on three beliefs; he feels he has a more settled squad than when he arrived, that they have had a better pre-season than 12 months ago, and that their rivals at the top of the division will have greater distractions in European competition this time.

Manchester United will kick off their new campaign on Sunday at Old Trafford against West Ham.

"City are probably not going to know as much about us as we do about them". I don't think I am in a position of moaning, crying, contesting or to say I am not happy with it.

The midfielder made a big money move back to Old Trafford last summer and helped the club to League Cup and Europa League glory, with the latter securing them a spot back in the Champions League. Not at all. I just think that naturally, a manager in the second season knows the players and knows the club better.

"But what the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City can do, they can do that and good luck to them". In the 34 years since we have experienced highs and very many lows. Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial must give zest to this time, their youth great and flair an asset in making things happen in opposition's box.

His priority has been to sign a defender, a midfielder, a winger, and a striker, and with just 20 days of the transfer window left to go, all he needs now is someone who can operate on the flanks.

"I was very happy when I found out he wanted to count on me". "I would like to see Pep Guardiola stay even if City didn't win a trophy, but the reality of football is that he would most likely be sacked if we have another season like the last one".

He said: "Last season we were favourites too and finished 15 points behind and, from my experience as a manager, always in the beginning of the season, the new teams are the toughest ones". I think we're in for plenty of goals and a decent City win. They will need to show maturity in the Champions League matches, especially as United could play Real Madrid, Juventus or Bayern Munich this fall.
