La Liga Will Reportedly Block PSG From Triggering Neymar's €220m Release Clause

Barcelona says Neymar plans to leave the club amid rumors of a blockbuster move to Paris Saint-Germain.

"The player came to train as scheduled and announced to his teammates that he is leaving", said the source.

PSG is rumored to be ready to pay his release clause of 222 million euros ($262 million).

Such a fee would smash the current record £89.3 million ($111 million, 105.2 million euros) Manchester United paid for Paul Pogba previous year.

Neymar arrived back in Barcelona on Tuesday from a fleeting promotional tour to China after playing in all three of Barca's glamour pre-season fixtures in the United States against Juventus, Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Barcelona said Neymar did not specify where he wants to play next, but the only club speculated to be after him - and one of few which could handle the cost of the transfer - is the Qatari-owned PSG.

On the other side of the coin, Barcelona also stated that a bonus payment of 26 million euros to Neymar's father relating to the player signing a contract extension last October has been frozen and will remain in the hands of a notary until the matter is concluded.

La Liga chief Javier Tebas believes that the French club can not make the deal happen without breaking Financial Fair Play regulations, and hinted that he will report them to world football governing body FIFA if they do.

"We will not accept this money from a club like PSG", Tebas told Madrid sports daily AS on Wednesday. "Especially when this club is infringing rules and laws".

Together they have won two La Liga titles, a Champions League and three Spanish Cups, whilst Neymar has scored 105 goals and provided 80 assists in just 186 games.

According to pretty much everyone, Neymar is about to complete a world record move from Barcelona to PSG this summer.
