Gareth Bale to stay at Real Madrid regardless of summer signings

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has still to move to Manchester

The Croatia worldwide has been heavily linked with a move to the Red Devils throughout the summer transfer window so far.

The United manager had said ahead of the match in Skopje he would consider the Wales global to be available if he were left on the bench, only to see him start.

Mourinho reveals the Red Devils will no longer be able to sign Gareth Bale, following their 2-1 loss to Los Blancos in the UEFA Super Cup.

"I'm happy I'm playing football, I'm winning trophies, so yeah, I don't want to move, there's not really much more I can say".

However, Bale put on a fine show last night - and it forced Mourinho to change his stance and the United manager said: "I think so - clearly the club wants him and he wants the club - game over even before it started - everybody knows he is going to stay".

It is said the 54-year-old has performed background checks with his former club and has been told there is a chance Bale could be let go. "We're all fighting for our places anyway".

Gareth Bale's future at Real Madrid prompted Manchester United to forget about the Inter Milan star and focus their efforts on the Wales global.

Bale insists his family are settled in the Spanish capital and downplayed the transfer speculation, saying it got a "little bit more hyped up" purely because Madrid were facing United in the Super Cup.

The 28-year-old feels Mourinho, who is starting his second season, is bringing United back to the level at which they belong.

"As for United, they did very well, they gave us a hard game today, and I'm sure they'll do fantastic this season". "I see no reason why they can't [be a force in the Champions League]".
