Fulham confirm signing of Liverpool winger

Sheyi Ojo

Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo is set to join Fulham on loan.

Fulham are reportedly closing in on the signing of Sheyi Ojo from Liverpool.

The England U-20 World Cup victor was coveted by the likes of Middlesbrough, Derby County and Aston Villa, but has decided on Craven Cottage as his destination after being attracted by a move closer to his birthplace of Hemel Hempstead and having a good chance of breaking into Slavisa Jokanovic's first team.

Ojo was with MK Dons, and he spent time training with the first-team when he was 13.

He made 11 senior appearances in his first season under Jurgen Klopp scoring one goal in the FA Cup replay against Exeter at Anfield in January 2016.

He was also part the England squad which won the Under-20 World Cup this summer.

The loan marks Ojo's third temporary move away from Liverpool and to the Championship in his so far short career after previously spending time at both Wigan and Wolves in England's second tier.

The Merseyside giants announced on their official Twitter account and official website on Wednesday afternoon that the 20-year-old left-winger had made the switch to London on a season-long deal.

Commenting on Ojo's loan move, Fulham's Vice Chairman and Director of Football Operations, Tony Khan said: "I'm delighted to welcome Sheyi Ojo to the Fulham Football Club".
