Ezekiel Elliott reportedly will file suspension appeal Tuesday

Rams outside linebacker Robert Quinn will be held out of Saturday’s exhibition opener against the Dallas Cowboys

The NFL suspended star Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott for six games Friday, concluding after a yearlong investigation that the league rushing leader caused injuries to his then-girlfriend in three separate incidents last summer.

Last September, the office of Columbus City Attorney Richard Pfeiffer cited conflicting and inconsistent information in the evidence in deciding against criminal charges.

Elliott continues to maintain his innocence.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is reportedly "furious" with the league's decision to suspend Elliott, according to ESPN.

The Cowboys and Rams both have young players who have to step up immediately. We're one play away from being a starter.

"Obviously, we knew that this was something that could happen", Jones said. "We can't control what the National Football League does". "I'd say this: there's no place for a man to put his hand on a woman". But unlike the first preseason game, Moore did not fare too well in Los Angeles.

Garrett refused to comment on whether he thought Elliott might win his appeal and be available for the season opener against the New York Giants.

Prescott hasn't played in a game since the Cowboys were eliminated from last year's postseason.

Goff, who struggled previous year as a rookie, looked good in his short stint that last just eight plays. The Rams will get their first taste of action for the year, looking to bounce back from a poor 4-12 year in 2016 in a lackluster NFC West. "We still didn't have our team at full strength, but it was a pretty good year".

With Ezekiel Elliott falling in the RB pecking order, certain running backs will be purple patched more than ever. After the Cowboys forced L.A.to punt on its first series of the game, Dallas rookie return man Lance Lenoir muffed the ensuing catch and the home team fell on the prize to gain possession at the Cowboys 33-yard line.

"I think Zeke has done an excellent job through this whole process of focusing on what he needs to do, control what he can control, he comes to work every day", Garrett said. This will be the fantasy period wherein teams will be preparing for the fantasy playoffs, so having Elliott in the team is certainly a huge gamble as the question of will he heat up early or need a couple of games to get into a flow again, hovering over his value. Officially, Goff didn't get credit for the touchdown, but he completed a pass on the scoring play and celebrated the score with emotion.
