Everton 7/10 to win against Stoke City in Saturday's Premier League clash

Davy Klaassen of Everton is tackled by Steven N'Zonzi of Sevilla during a pre-season friendly match between Everton and Sevilla at Goodison Park

"We still have three players out on long-term injuries in Seamus Coleman, Yannick Bolasie and Ramiro Funes Mori, but they are doing well", Koeman told the club's official website.

After Diego Costa fell out of Antonio Conte's plans, the champions paid Real Madrid a reported £70million to sign Alvaro Morata, while United parted with £75million to buy Romelu Lukaku from Everton.

Koeman clearly no longer considers returning star Wayne Rooney as an out and out striker and, rather, the Dutchman is looking for a collective effort to replace Lukaku's prodigious output.

Predicted Everton Starting Lineup: Pickford; Martina, Keane, Williams, Baines; Gueye, Schneiderlin; Calvert-Lewin, Klaassen, Mirallas; Rooney.

Lukaku hit 25 league goals for Everton last season and, with supply coming from the likes of Juan Mata and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, the Belgian should record a similar tally. The team will open their season at home against Stoke City in what should be a good game.

Rooney has now been involved in 300 Premier League goals - 199 scored himself and 101 assists.

This is because four of Everton's first six league fixtures see them face Man City, Chelsea, Spurs and Man United, with only the Spurs game taking place at home.

Stoke manager Mark Hughes: "Everyone is fed up of friendlies, and we just all want the season to start now".

Everton manager Ronald Koeman: "You smell and feel the motivation of the players to start this Saturday".

With the benefit of Europa League football in their legs already, expect them to be flying today.

The enthusiasm of early summer has given way to anxiety at Everton.

The pair that comes out on top will certainly have a big say in where a potential victory lies, but there will be only so much either duo can do if neither team's forward lines produce the goods where it matters.

Having said that I'm backing them to kick the season off with a win against a Stoke side I fear will struggle having lost Marko Arnautovic to West Ham.
