Eagles Trade Jordan Matthews, Third Rounder To Bills For Corner Ronald Darby

At least one Buffalo Bills player is familiar with new wide receiver Jordan Matthews. Matthews caught 67 passes for 872 yards and eight touchdowns in 10 starts with the Eagles. Last season, he was second with 73 receptions, 804 yards and three touchdowns. The others were Odell Beckham Jr., Mike Evans, A.J. Green and Randy Moss. Matthews and Wentz spent time previous year as they rehabbed from their injuries during training camp. You watch the tape of his last two years watching him play against the guys that we go against.

The control over a young player was important to Roseman in the trade. "We wish Jordan all the best, but we did what we thought was best for our team going forward". Hollins had a strong game in the Birds' 24-9 loss in the preseason opener to the Packers on Thursday night as did Bryce Treggs. "People are spreading you out (on defense) with three- and four-wide receiver packages".

"Of course", Mills told NJ Advance Media via text message on Friday, when asked if he was excited to have another veteran at the position. Matthews was a rookie that year and quickly impressed McCoy.

Matthews became expendable in Philadelphia after they signed both Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith in free agency. Roseman later dealt QB Sam Bradford to the Vikings to recoup some of the draft picks he lost in the deal to get Wentz. "You look around the league, and it is a corner-deficient league". We had the opportunity to watch you develop as a player and as a person, and that is something we will never forget.

"Crazy part of this business", Wentz tweeted.

Despite having played with several quarterbacks in the NFL, you always seemed to be a favorite target of whoever was throwing you the football.

"Honestly don't think a teammate had a bigger impact on my life", Ertz wrote. I'm going to miss Jordan [Matthews], though. Darby has been in the league for two years and has been very productive in that span.

"Our priority was sorting out the cornerback position", Roseman said. But he's way better than anything the Eagles had on the roster, and they are unquestionably a better overall team with Darby and without Matthews than vice versa.
