Craig Shakespeare not expecting a Leicester exodus

Iheanacho good to go, Leicester coach dismisses injury fears

Leicester City Boss Craig Shakespeare and captain Wes Morgan have both praised Super Eagles star, Kelechi Iheanacho, backing him to do a "great job" at the club.

The likes of Kasper Schmeichel and Jamie Vardy have also had suitors in the recent past and it would not be a surprise if there was renewed interest in them ahead of the August 31 deadline.

Speaking in a room decorated with the headlines and back pages that greeted Leicester's extraordinary triumph 15 months ago, Shakespeare talked about a rollercoaster ride as he reflected on the highs and lows of the past few years and, at the same time, tried to gaze into the future. Just as importantly his quality of play has been there for all to see.

"You would probably think he might take that chance himself, but to spot Jamie, to play that in with the weight of pass he did for Jamie to finish it, it shows his awareness and his unselfishness". "He's young and will only get better".

"He gives us another dimension". We have got strength in depth in forward positions'.

"You know when you have good players that there might be interest in them from other clubs but I wouldn't sleep at night if all the scenarios that you (the media) put to me happened". We did a round-robin tournament today and he was on my team.

"It's good to see someone with that knowhow, someone with a different acuteness that adds something to the team".

"I think we have those assurances s o I haven't got to worry about that".

Jamie Vardy rued a familiar feeling of frustration at Arsenal after his brace could not stop Leicester City falling to an opening-day 4-3 defeat in the Premier League.
