Chelsea are reportedly closing in on a £30 million move for former Manchester United midfielder Danny Drinkwater, now a part of Leicester City.

The Daily Telegraph is reporting that the the Blues are pondering a move for the 30-year-old England global as the west London side look to further strengthen their attack.

The Blues already have new arrival Alvaro Morata and young Michy Batshuayi up their sleeves; however with the latter surrounded by uncertainty himself, Conte wants a top-class striking option.

Sheffield United came out of the traps quickly at the start of the second half as they threatened to catch Leicester cold but the 2015/16 Premier League champions showed all of the qualities that made them such a threat on the counter-attack during their glorious campaign of two seasons ago.

Conte is desperately trying to bolster his strike-force before the end of the transfer window.

Jamie Vardy is the flawless solution for Chelsea, and Antonio Conte must act fast in order to secure the former Premier League champion.

The Blues, however, will have to make do without Diego Costa this season as they prepare for life without the Spain global.

Last season, Jamie Vardy was in great form for Leicester City as he scored 13 Premier League goals, but he is yet to find his rhythm this term. While Vardy would have a higher chance of winning the league again with a club like Chelsea, his loyalties to Leicester and a guaranteed regular starting spot in the squad could prevent him from moving.
