Brentford and QPR to meet in Carabao Cup

City await Carabao Cup draw

If you're a Leeds fan, at this point I'd have to assume you've woken up from a coma if you have no idea what the words "Carabao Cup" and "Samu Sáiz" are.

What time is the Carabao Cup second round draw?

Karl Robinson's team subsequently thrashed Ipswich 6-1 in their final friendly and have won both their opening fixtures of the season, winning 1-0 at home to Bristol Rovers in the league and 2-1 at League Two side Exeter City in the first round of the Carabao Cup.

It will take place live on Sky Sports News following this evening's televised tie between Bury and Sunderland.

The draw was conducted with seeded teams being picked out, followed by whether they would be at home or away and then finally, their opposition.

Premier League side Swansea are managed by Paul Clement, and finished 15th in last season's competition.

After that confusion was resolved it was confirmed that QPR were indeed at home to Brentford in the next round.

Ties will be played week commencing August 21.

Newport were placed in the northern section of the draw to avoid playing West Ham United who were also given permission by the EFL to play their second round tie away from home due to the athletics World Championships taking place at their ground.

Sunderland - who Clark has labelled the biggest club outside the Premier League - face League One Shakers at Gigg Lane in the first round (KO 7.45pm).
