Boston Celtics to travel to London for regular-season game against 76ers

As part of the NBA's Global Games Initiatives, the Celtics will play their first regular-season game in Europe this season - with Boston set to battle the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA London Game 2018 at the O2 Arena on January 11.

The game will take place on Thursday, Jan. 11 at the O2 Arena in London.

In the end, this is just another regular season game, and the biggest difference this could make is a longer and less comfortable road trip.

This will be the eighth National Basketball Association regular-season game in London overall.

No. 2 pick Lonzo Ball, on the other hand, was named "Most Likely To Have a Parent Storm the Court", so the Celtics certainly came out on top this time.

"I am delighted the NBA continues to bring the world's best basketball to our great city in what has now become a well-established and eagerly anticipated event on London's sporting calendar", said Mayor of London Sadiq Khan.

It's also worth noting that aside from their 2013 preseason game in Manchester and Brown's experience in London, the Sixers have another, much more direct tie to the London sports scene.

The O2 Arena will be the site for the matchup, and it is a premier venue in London.

For once, the Sixers aren't one of those teams this coming year.

With their combined talent, young exciting players and recent history with the Markelle Fultz-Jayson Tatum trade, this is a great matchup to bring to worldwide fans. "We are a young, hungry team, and we will be sure to give the fans an exciting game against Boston in January". And if you've already paid in full (like a boss), then you'll have two options: either get a refund for the cost of that game, or have the balance credited to your account for future tickets, like if you renew for 2018-19. or want to buy playoff tickets in the spring.

The Sixers will be designated as the home team in the game, which will be broadcast locally on Comcast SportsNet and 97.5 The Fanatic.
