Aston Merrygold is the eighth celeb confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing

Strictly Come Dancing Sunday Brunch star Simon Rimmer becomes the seventh celebrity to sign up for the BBC dancing show

Joe said in a statement.

"I'm so happy to be joining Strictly 2017, it is such a brilliant show and I've followed it for years", Aston said.

The BBC has been announcing a celebrity per day for the upcoming series of Strictly.

The seventh celeb contestant on the Strictly Come Dancing 2017 line up has been confirmed this morning.

With an obvious array of dancing experience, is Aston set to become the early favourite?

Scott, who was partnered with Joanne Clifton, teased the hunk about tight pants on the show.

Joining the lineup is former X Factor finalist and member of JLS, Aston Merrygold.

Although some stars are yet to sign on the dotted line, one thing's for certain, there will be plenty of fireworks when the show returns this autumn as the judging panel and troupe of professionals have been given a huge shake up recently.

Fans immediately began to speculate that the cryptic message signalled Chris' spot on the Strictly line-up.

Aston is the eighth name confirmed for this year's series, with The Saturdays singer Mollie King, 'EastEnders' hunk Davood Ghadami, ITV daytime star Ruth Langsford and 'Sunday Brunch' presenter Simon Rimmer also hitting the dance floor this year.

When her role was revealed back in May, Shirley exclaimed: 'I can't wait to get in to the ballroom and be part of the incredible and respected judging panel'.

He added that he's "never danced in my life on TV", before going on to say he'd do his best on the show.

He was handed a tub of fake tan by co-presenter Tim Lovejoy, who then quizzed him on how he fancies his chances.
