Weekend Break-In At GOP Sen. Dean Heller's Las Vegas Office

Burglary at Heller's Las Vegas office investigated

A break-in happened Saturday morning at the Las Vegas office of Nevada Republican Sen.

A preliminary investigation determined that a burglary did not occur, but a note addressed to Heller was found near the door to his office. Dean Heller was discovered by officers responding to a report of a burglary.

Megan Taylor, a spokeswoman for Heller, confirmed the break-in to The Washington Post but said she could not comment because of an ongoing investigation. A threatening note against Heller was also left behind, a source claims.

Heller had been thrust into the national spotlight over the Trump administration's effort to repeal and replace ObamaCare.

Heller has attracted attention within his party in recent weeks for expressing his concerns over the GOP's Senate health care proposal. "I can not support a bill that takes insurance away from tens of millions of Americans", he said at a press conference recently with Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval.

The vote will not take place until at least next week as John McCain will remain in Arizona to recover from eye surgery over the weekend.
