The Incredibles 2 begins where the original ended

Live Updates from the D23 Disney Animation Panel!

In this post we are going to focus on the news out of Pixar and Disneytoons Studios. This year, Walt Disney Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios and Marvel Studios are all represented with splashy pavilions that showcase the latest and greatest from Disney's ever-growing film division. Yet, it's been 13 years and we still haven't got a sequel to one of Disney/Pixar's best films. They said that music will include the talents of songwriter Germaine Franco, and Robert Lopez and Kristen-Anderson Lopez (Frozen). I do not know if Dusty or any of the previous Planes characters will appear. "One of the unique things about the Incredibles is it's really a story of a family set in the world of superheroes". Creator and director Brad Bird said the film will come out next summer, and talked about the story of the sequel a bit.

A mockumentary clip was also shown regarding fan favorite, stylist Edna Mode. The first movie featured a former fanatical superhero fan, Buddy Pines as a villain so it could be pretty interesting to see a team of villains while getting their backstories as well. Incredible (Craig T. Nelson) to stay home and look after their baby Jack Jack and his expanding array of superpowers.

New technology will allow the characters to be more expressive. So as Jack-Jack watches a robbery on TV, he sees a raccoon and notices its eyes resemble the mask that the robber is wearing on TV.

It wasn't long after that video ended, that Bird took the stage and introduced a new clip from the movie. They also mentioned something about them doing research on an RV trip so that could be hint!

The film will be from the creative forces of Dan Scanlon, co-writer and director on Monsters University. Like, did they bring him in and say, "Okay, now say, 'we survived but we're dead". This mimics Scanlon's own experience losing his father at a very young age and will probably be very heartfelt.

Other than maybe Marvel, no one comes almost as close to Pixar in terms of hiding #EasterEggs scattered throughout their films.
