Ryan Phillippe's Injury To Impact 'Shooter' Season 2 Production Schedule

Easter snap Phillippe is also father to six-year-old daughter Kailani with his ex-flame- Pitch Perfect's Alexis Knapp- who's coincidentally recovering from knee surgery

Ryan Phillippe showed off his current situation on Instagram by sharing a photo of himself in a hospital bed, his leg bandaged and set in some type of contraption.

While it is unclear exactly how he was injured, he did say in an interview with Popsugar from Saturday about how physically demanding his role as exiled Marine Bob Lee Swagger is on the US show Shooter, which has led some Instagram well wishers to believe that the injury was related to Phillippe doing his own stunts.

The 42-year-old was hospitalised with an injury to his leg and had to put promotional activities for his TV series on hold.

"We are working with our partners at U.S. and UCP to adjust the production schedule, but first and foremost we are happy to hear that Ryan is doing well and recovering", a rep for Paramount said in a statement to Deadline. He tweeted his leg needed "surgical attention", but will make a full recovery. The second season of his US network action series Shooter is set to premiere on Tuesday of this week. "And it's a physical show, and I do all of my own stunts", he told PopSugar recently. But I love it at the same time. "It's exhausting. I've got bruises", he continued.

He also is starring in the new horror flick, Wish Upon, which hit theaters last week.
