Not everyone is singing praises for Ed Sheeran's 'Game of Thrones' cameo

After more than a year's hiatus, the highly anticipated and multiple Emmy-winning fantasy blockbuster "Game of Thrones" is finally back on HBO. She even joined their campfire and enjoyed some roasted rabbit while listening to Sheeran sing away.

We haven't seen Arya's direwolf since way back in Season 1 Episode 2, when Arya sent her away after biting Joffrey.

Last night's season 7 premiere of Game of Thrones hit an all time high for the series, giving the show its strongest ratings to date.

The singer starred alongside English actress Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark.

George R.R Martin's, Game of Thrones Season 7 premiere episode is out now and its named "Dragonstone".

'Fanatic I am. subscribed just to watch GOT. but Ed Sheeran ruined it lol, ' the Facebook post read.

Both of HBO's live streaming services, HBO Go and HBO Now, were overloaded on Sunday night in America after millions tuned in to watch the season seven premiere of their favourite show.

Arya told Ed's character, 'It's a pretty song, I've never heard it before, ' to which he responded, 'It's a new one'.

On top of the viewers, the premiere of Game of Thrones was the most-tweeted about in the show's history. And for those who cannot wait for long to dive into the world of dragons, they can watch the premiere episode at Hotstar just minutes after the U.S. telecast.

"We knew that Maisie was a big fan of Ed Sheeran and for years we've been trying to get him on the show so we can surprise Maisie", Benioff revealed during South by Southwest festival, according to Entertainment Weekly.

And Ed isn't the only musician to have had a cameo on the programme, as Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody, Coldplay drummer Will Champion, Sigur Ros and Mastadon have all made appearances in the past.
