Nemanja Matic and Diego Costa set to miss Chelsea's Asia tour

Juventus join race for Chelsea midfielder

The Serbian shares an amicable relationship with Mourinho, given that the Portuguese man brought him back to the Premier League in 2014 and went on to win the title with Chelsea a year later.

Chelsea have given Nemanja Matic permission to join Diego Costa in missing their tour of China and Singapore as the Serbia midfielder attempts to smooth his departure from the club.

Matic has been linked with Manchester United and Juventus, with Chelsea apparently closing in on his replacement.

The Serbian international's future at Stamford Bridge is in serious doubt and he's been tipped to push for a move after Chelsea agreed a deal to sign Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.

Chelsea are willing to let Matic travel overseas, instead of selling to any of their local rivals, Manchester United and Arsenal, and would welcome the decision to see Matic leave to Italy.

The Blues are reluctant to sell Matic to United, after Jose Mourinho hijacked their move for Romelu Lukaku.

Atletico are now banned from signing players and that would prevent Costa playing for them until January.

Chelsea have signed Manchester City reserve goalkeeper Willy Caballero and AS Roma defender Antonio Rudiger in the summer transfer window so far.

Manchester United, on the other hand, signed Sweden worldwide Victor Lindelof in a £30.7m deal before the Red Devils beat Chelsea to the £75m signing of Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.

Conte will be keen to conclude transfer business swiftly to prepare for the season opening in less than a month's time.
