Lakers Beat Nets, Advance to Summer League Semifinals

Summer league at this point can sometimes drag on a little, but the nightly questions of what brand Lonzo Ball will be wearing for each game have at least provided a fun storyline.

Ball has created a stir here with his choice of shoes for each game, from Big Baller Brand to Nike to Adidas to Under Armour. Granted, it's the Summer League, where outstanding performances and troubling games are equally swept under the rug for the sole reason that "it's the Summer League".

To match Westbrook's triple-double average, Ball is going to need to record another triple-double or more if the Lakers keep advancing in the single-elimination playoff format.

Hardly a fluke by anybody's standards, this kid has an outstanding and truly special ability passing the ball.

Both LaVar and Lonzo Ball said that wearing different shoe brands reflects the independence Lonzo has to switch things up. "I can't wait to go out there and play him".

If Lavar Ball has taught his son anything over the last few months, it's to do whatever it takes to get a response out of anyone listening. "Their pace in the first half kind of killed us, and they were getting easy layups in transition and getting to the rim at will". But some insiders in the shoe industry thought it was unusual that Lonzo was wearing other brands so soon.

Fellow rookie Kyle Kuzma, drafted with the 27th overall pick, has received many of those home run passes from Ball.

Simply put, Lonzo Ball is doing it all for the Lakers.

With Magic Johnson, Pelinka and coach Luke Walton watching, Ball was having his best shooting night of the summer league, draining five of seven shots, including two of three 3-pointers, for 16 points.

For as well as Ball has played recently during the exhibition games, his choices of footwear have nearly been as big a story as his play on the court. "I saw him right under the basket". They'll face the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday.

Lonzo ball took a seat for during the third Summer League game, but did not miss a beat in his return for the fourth.
