Gilberto Silva urges Wilshere to fight for Arsenal stay

"I think Jack will be with Arsenal next season, yes", Wenger is quoted by The Mirror.

However, Wenger - who signed a new two-year deal at the end of last season - reckons the England worldwide will remain at the Emirates Stadium.

The midfielder spent last season on loan at Bournemouth and is now sidelined.

After a successful spell with Bournemouth last season, that was cut short by a collision with Harry Kane, many believed his time at the Gunners was over but Wenger has cleared the air on any transfer rumours.

Jack Wilshere's next move could see him head to mainland Europe, after reports suggested Sampdoria are looking to lure him to Serie A.

'I will give you a very focused answer on that, that he has to work hard to come back and fight for a place in the team'. The Italian team has offered Arsenal a cut-price fee of £9 million, as Arsene Wenger is ready to get rid of the player.

The England global made 29 Premier League appearances for the Cherries, but his progress was cut short by a fractured leg he suffered in April.

The Stevenage-born footballer has suffered two broken legs, a hairline fracture in his foot and three niggling ankle issues since May 2014 - injuries that have resulted in Wilshere missing a whopping 84 first-team matches for Arsenal in the past three years.
