Four men in custody after woman's body found inside Melbourne apartment

It is believed a woman who was found dead in a hotel room after a buck's party in Melbourne was a member of the Australian Defence Force

A woman's body has been found in a Melbourne apartment and four men have been taken into custody by homicide detectives.

HOMICIDE investigators are trying to identify a woman who was found dead in the shower of a city apartment in a buck's night tragedy.

Four men, all in their late 20s and early 30s, from New South Wales and the ACT, were arrested and later released from custody and are helping police with the investigation.

Four men, all aged in their late 20s to early 30s from the ACT and NSW, are now in custody assisting with the investigation.

The circumstances surrounding the death are unknown.

When questioned by a reporter as to how the woman died, one man believed to be part of the buck's party responded: "dunno, you'll have to ask the police".

Police are testing for the presence of illicit drugs.

Some of the men were seen downstairs at the club between 2.30am and 3am.

They would not say who the deceased woman was or how they met her.

The groom-to-be remained inside the hotel lobby, talking on his mobile phone.

It appears that the group of men were not the ones who called emergency services.

An autopsy will be performed as soon as possible and the police are working with the hotel to obtain CCTV.

Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
