Couple knocks themselves out practicing "Dirty Dancing" lift for their wedding

Andy and Sharon Price were trying to flawless the lift from Dirty Dancing in a pub garden in Weston-Super-Mare when things went wrong and the pair ended up being seen to by medics.

Both Sharon and her future hubby were taken to Southmead Hospital following their collision.

The couple have now said they will rethink their wedding dance following the accident. So I looked at Andy and suggested we have it as our first dance at our wedding.

One couple attempted to re-create the famous lift scene from "Dirty Dancing" - but rather than having the time of their lives, they ended up in the emergency room. And when coincidentally-named fiancés Sharon and Andy Price decided on "the spur of the moment" to recreate that famous move in a Weston-Super-Mare pub garden, who could possibly have foreseen the result being a quick trip to A&E?

Sharon was left unable to breathe after winding herself and Andy hit his head so hard he was knocked unconscious. "But it's fair to say it didn't go to plan".

She said: "The paramedics were pretty anxious about Andy and cut his t shirt off and blue-lighted him up to Southmead Hospital".

Bride-to-be Sharon Price, 52, added: "I can remember running towards Andy and then the next thing just struggling for breath and my back was hurting".

"We were both badly bruised but we're all right now". "Everybody else slow dances, so we thought we'd jazz it up a bit".

The couple, who have been together for 18 months, met while working at Seetru Engineering in Bristol.

Sharon and Andy have a combined five children from previous marriages, and said they received some good-natured teasing.

The engaged couple are now planning to keep their feet "firmly on the ground" with their actual first dance at their wedding.
