"The Indian Army retaliated strongly and effectively", the spokesman said.

Reportedly, the Indian Army is retaliating strongly to it. Pakistan is continually violating ceasefire.

"DGMO Pakistan Army, Major General Sahir Shamshad Mirza emphasized the importance of controlling tactical actions of under command troops, since these indiscretions can potentially spiral major standoffs".

The latest incident between the nuclear-armed neighbours took place in Athmaqam in Azad Kashmir's scenic Neelum Valley, where military officials said they responded to the Indian ceasefire violation.

"The trend of infiltration along the LoC continued with active support of Pakistan forward posts impacting peace and tranquility along the LoC and also the internal security situation".

In response to the alleged attack on the vehicle, Pakistan's military fired at Indian soldiers along the LoC.

The Indian DGMO added that it was honest in its effort of maintaining peace and tranquillity along the LC provided there was reciprocity. Defence sources media that Pakistani troops started unprovoked shelling in the area around 7:30 am.

Senior police officer S.P. Vaid said that in the neighboring Poonch area, an 8-year-old girl was killed and her mother was wounded after a shell landed on their house.
