Bopanna and Dabrowski crash out

Watson and Kontinen embrace Ivan Dodig and Sania Mirza following the two-set clash

The 10th seeded Indo-Canadian pair went down 7-6, 4-6, 5-7 to unseeded duo Henri Kontinen of Finland and Heather Watson of Britain in a quarter-final clash that lasted two hours.

The Scot's men's doubles partner, Brazilian Bruno Soares, will take on Watson and Kontinen in the last four with Russian Elena Vesnina.

In a match stuck on Centre Court immediately after Murray and Hingis's triumph, Watson and Kontinen treated the crowd to an early-evening nail-biter, eventually triumphing 6-7, 6-4, 7-5.

The margin of defeat was quite less with the winners taking 109 points to 104 of the Roland Garros winners, who saved eight of the 11 break points they faced.

Sania Mirza crashed out of the mixed doubles competition while Rohan Bopanna and his partner entered the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon Championships here. Both Britons will be bidding for their second Wimbledon mixed doubles title. Other Indians in the fray, Divij Sharan, Purav Raja, Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan.

Murray and Martina Hingis are the top seeds and defeated all-British pair Ken Skupski and Jocelyn Rae 6-4 6-4.
