Tropical storm warning issued for Louisiana's Gulf Coast

State Department Issues Travel Alert for Typhoon, Hurricane Season 2017

Barbados is now under a tropical storm warning.

A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect from west of Intracoastal City to High Island, TX.

Two tropical disturbances brewing in the Tropics were given greater odds of swirling into tropical cyclones next week, forecasters with the National Hurricane Center said Saturday. The system is moving toward the north at 9 miles per hour. Winds from that front will spin up rain from the storm, Dixon and other forecasters said. A Tropical Storm Warning means tropical storm conditions - sustained winds of at least 39 mph - are expected within the warning area within the next 24-to-36 hours.

Get ready for rounds of heavy rain through Friday, thanks to an area of disturbed weather in the Gulf. The National Hurricane Center released a potential path for the system.

As the storm develops it is expected to move northward to northwest into the central Gulf of Mexico.

An Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter plan found a well-defined closed circulation in the storm.

The heaviest rain threat should remain on the east side of the system through its lifespan regardless of further tropical development. It is packing winds of 40 miles per hour. "It looks like the system could strengthen into Tropical Storm Cindy today".

The Meteorological Office in Trinidad issued bulletin saying the country should begin to experience tropical storm conditions between midnight and 6 am Tuesday. Meteorologists warned of waves of more than 9 feet (3 meters) along the islands' coasts. It appears to have weakened, with limited storms appearing on satellite, and its chances of development are 50 percent over the next five days.
