Steelers' Artie Burns arrested in Miami

Burns, 22, was pulled over in South Beach and booked overnight.

Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Artie Burns, the team's first-round draft pick past year, was arrested in Miami Beach for driving on a suspended license Thursday night, according to a Miami Herald report. Officers handcuffed Burns after discovering his license had been expired.

Burns was charged with failing to pay $1,012.20 in traffic citations, according to Miami sports radio station WINZ.

One of the tickets Burns failed to pay cited him for driving 130 miles per hour in a 60-mph zone.

Burns was later released from custody, according to Miami-Dade County Corrections records.

In the grander scheme of things, Burns' brush with the law should amount to little more than a slap on the wrist, if anything, from the Steelers, who report to training camp on July 27.

He was the 25th overall pick by the Steelers in the 2016 NFL Draft. Burns intercepted 3 passes and played in all 16 games for Pittsburgh.
