Rishabh Pant, Kuldeep Yadav picked for ODI's against Windies

Amidst the semi-final tie between India and Bangladesh in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, The Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) in India has announced a 15-member squad for India's upcoming West Indies tour.

Opening batsman and present vice-captain Rohit Sharma along with pacer Jasprit Bumrah have been rested. "Hope I will perform well in the tour", added Pant, who has played just one T20 global for India.

Kumble is in the mix to stay on in the role, but had to reapply for the position.

Rishabh will be India's third wicket-keeping option in the Caribbean, with MS Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik also present. His continued batting performance included a century and two fifties, and earned him a hefty IPL contract with the Delhi Daredevils.

Rohit Sharma is the only noticeable omission from India's 15-member squad which will travel to the West Indies for five one-day internationals and a one-off T20 worldwide, immediately after the ICC Champions Trophy.

India's support staff will be the same for the West Indies tour, the BCCI statement said.

Both Rishabh and Kuldeep were in stand byes for the Champions Trophy and it was only a fair call by the selection committee led by MSK Prasad to try the two youngsters against a weaker global side.

The first 2 ODIs of the tour will be played at the Queen's Park Oval in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad; the next 2 will be played at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua.

Virat Kohli (c), Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant, Ajinkya Rahane, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (wk), Yuvraj Singh, Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya, R Ashwin, R Jadeja, Mohd. The fast bowling unit looks solid with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umesh Yadav, and Mohammed Shami, with Pandya providing backup.
