Real Madrid forward Diaz join Lyon

Alexandre Lacazette

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has revealed it is unlikely Arsenal target Alexandre Lacazette will leave the club this summer.

"I do not think that Alexandre Lacazette will leave this summer", Aulas told Canal Plus.

The striker could be set to replace France global Alexandre Lacazette, who is reportedly an Arsenal target with a potential £45million move being touted this summer.

Diaz struggled for first-team opportunities at Real Madrid although he did get the chance to shine with Castilla, netting 27 goals for the European champions' B team last season.

According to Sky Sports, the France global duo are summer transfer targets for the north London club manager Arsene Wenger.

The Gunners have been linked to the likes of Alvaro Morata and Kylian Mbappe, with strengthening of their strikeforce required, along with the questions surrounding the futures of Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud.

Arsenal fans will hope that Lyon's latest arrival more or less confirms a deal for Lacazette is in fact imminent. And when asked whether Lacazette might join Atletico in January, Aulas added: "It's possible".

Lyon's interest in Giroud may falter over his wage demands with West Ham ready to offer the 30-year-old around £120,000-a-week and meet Arsenal's £20m valuation.

Atletico Madrid appeared favourites to sign him until the La Liga outfit were hit with a transfer ban, while Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested.
