PSG want Cristiano Ronaldo while his priority is Manchester United

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane broke off his holiday to call Cristiano Ronaldo in a bid to persuade his unsettled star not to quit the club, Spanish sports daily Marca said yesterday.

A source has claimed Ronaldo "feels great indignation" with all the conjecture about his tax affairs and a sense of "injustice" at the allegations, which he contests, and has made a decision to leave Spain.

Ronaldo has frequently verbally committed himself to Real, and he's made no secret of his love for living in the Spanish capital.

Although Paris Saint-Germain are desperate to pay whatever it takes to sign the 32-year-old this summer, the player prefers a return to Old Trafford.

Ronaldo is now in Russian Federation with the national team to participate in the FIFA Confederations Cup which kicks off on Saturday.

Some believe this to be a carefully choreographed tactic by his agent Jorge Mendes to divert the news agenda away from his tax trial.

Calderon, who originally signed Ronaldo from United in 2008 for € 94 million, believed that the Scottish legend still has a major role to play in the deal.

According to Eurosport, Real Madrid could settle for a transfer payment of around $150 million.

With Cristiano Ronaldo continuing to be linked with an exit from Real Madrid, he will reportedly cost any interested party £131m this summer.

In 2016-17, Ronaldo helped Real win the Spanish title for the first time since 2012 as well as retain the Champions League. As one of the world's top players, Ronaldo will be hot property should he manage to engineer a move from Madrid.

Ronaldo's advisers, though, have been told to find him a new club outside Spain because he is angry after being accused of evading tax of 14.7m euros (£13m) between 2011 and 2014.

"As far as I can see, he is motivated about the national team - he is focused and very serious", Silva told reporters after being asked how Ronaldo had seemed since the tax charges emerged on Tuesday. PSG are sold as a really appealing option in the report, and the Ligue 1 giants undoubtedly have the resources to make it happen. In November, he agreed to extend his contract until 2021.
