Indian missions organising International Yoga Day on 21st

As the entire world awaits International Day of Yoga, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) will also conduct yoga sessions on June 21 at all of its stations, ships and units across the country.

While Modi will be performing various "asanas" in Lucknow, around 92,000 inmates living in various jails of Uttar Pradesh will also be participating in parallel sessions from the confines of the prisons itself.

More than 1,500 people in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho took part in the third International Yoga Day on June 17.

Their concentration power will gradually increase, and thoughts of ending life or committing suicide, which cross their mind will disappear, the minister said.

Meanwhile in Pratapgarh, at least 200 farmers are likely to perform yoga simultaneously with the prime minister.

"Around 200 farmers will perfor Yoga in Pratapgarh".

In a special video message released on the third annual yoga day, Prime Minister Modi implored viewers to make yoga a mass movement.

The participants would be allowed to enter the venue for the rehearsal from 2 in the morning on Monday and Yoga practice will be held between 0630 am and 0745 am, he said.

Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena and India's High Commissioner in Colombo Taranjit Singh Sandhu Friday joined thousands of yoga enthusiasts at Independence Square in Colombo to celebrate the International Day of Yoga 2017.

During that time, two new Guinness records were achieved: the largest number of yoga participants practicing at the same time (almost 36,000); and the largest number of different nationalities participating at the same time (84 nationalities). The PM has asked chief ministers of NDA-ruled states to participate in the events.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah will perform Yoga in Ahmedabad.

Other eight localities also responded to the Yoga Day, including Ho Chi Minh City, Vinh Phuc, Vinh city (Nghe An), Da Nang city, Nha Trang city (KHanh Hoa province), Long An province, Dong Nai province and Can Tho City.

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to send invitation to the leaders of all the political parties, former chief ministers and Assembly speakers, a senior government official said. 55,000 people are expected to attend the event which will be held in Rambani Ambedkar Maidan in Lucknow.
