US Democrats Demand To Hear From Kushner On Russia Ties

The real scandal stemming from reports that Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner suggested setting up a backchannel with Russian officials is the leaking of classified information that led to Kushner's alleged request becoming public, according to James Woolsey, the former Central Intelligence Agency director under Bill Clinton.

It's been just a few days since news surfaced that the Federal Bureau of Investigation is looking into the role Kushner held during the campaign and transition, including his contacts with Russian officials, his role in the campaign's data analytics operation, and his relationship with former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Kushner has drawn increased scrutiny as reports have emerged about his contacts with the Russian ambassador and a Russian banking representative.

There is no indication Kushner is now a target of the FBI's probe, and there are no allegations he committed any wrongdoing. But he took a front row seat alongside chief strategist Steve Bannon and chief of staff Reince Priebus, literally and figuratively. "You have to ask, well, who are they hiding the conversation from?" he said on ABC.

The couple spent the weekend at Trump's Bedminister Golf Club, where they married in 2009, for a planned trip with their three small children. But back home, questions continue to surround the president.

The White House faces mounting questions about potential ties between Russian Federation and Trump's presidential campaign, which are also the subject of criminal and congressional investigations. It is unclear when proposals for changes will be presented to Mr. Trump, but it will likely take place sometime soon, now that the president has returned to Washington. "Now, despite that, he brought Jared Kushner into the White House because of his loyalty, because his usefulness within the White House". He has no national-security or diplomatic experience, however, but was nonetheless chosen to represent the then-president-elect at a Trump Tower meeting with Russia's ambassador the United States. "It's good to be back!"

"Jared is doing a great job for the country", Trump said in the statement. "And I think it's important to recognize that the president has expressed full confidence in Jared Kushner and also went on to note the considerable progress and very large, important portfolio that Jared oversees here at the White House".

"He is respected by virtually everyone and is working on programs that will save our country billions of dollars".

Franken told "CBS This Morning" on Tuesday that Kushner did not disclose many of his contacts with the Russians when getting his White House security clearance, something Franken believes is "against the law" and "very unusual".

"I sort of stole her husband", an effusive Trump told roomful of guests on inauguration eve that included his favored daughter Ivanka.

She helped spearhead a federal paid family leave program that was included in the budget released last Tuesday while they were overseas.

One tentative stop is Cincinnati, the source said, and others are being debated as the White House looks to draw attention to decaying roads and bridges. But it ranks lower than health care and tax reform, and a constant complaint from Capitol Hill Republicans is that they often view the White House political strategy as scattershot and counterproductive.
