Manchester United to land Oblak if De Gea leaves for Real Madrid

Jose Mourinho prepares to play the Manchester United kids in his 63rd game of the season

Jose Mourinho has said David de Gea is staying at Manchester United and his next appearance will come against LA Galaxy in the USA pre-season tour.

The Argentine has filled in well for De Gea in recent games, showing himself to be a very capable backup and contender for first choice if De Gea returns to Spain.

United will demand £60m for De Gea and manager Jose Mourinho has identified Oblak as a potential replacement for the Spain global.

The Slovenian shot-stopper is highly coveted in the Premier League, with Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United all linked with bids as they prepare for potential goalkeeping departures.

United fear David De Gea will finally join Real Madrid this summer and the Spanish worldwide won't play again this season having already been left out of their last two games.

The Red Devils remain desperate to keep hold of the Spaniard and qualifying for the Champions League through winning the Europa League final next week against Ajax will significantly enhance their chances of convincing De Gea to stay.

Prising him away from Aletico won't be cheap or easy, but if there's one player who can ensure De Gea isn't missed at Old Trafford, it's Oblak.

This a vast improvement on the £25million fee they agreed with Manchester United just two years ago, when De Gea's transfer to the Bernabeu broke down at the last moment of the 2015 summer transfer window.
