LeBron Scores 35 Points, Irving 27; Cavaliers Sweep Raptors

Raptors swept from playoffs by King James' Cavaliers

He had 39 points in Game 2, 35 in Game 3 and then 35 as the Cavs closed out the Raptors in four games to end Toronto's season with a 109-102 win.

D'Antoni guided the Rockets to the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference and third-best record in the National Basketball Association at 55-27, and his team broke the league's regular-season record with 1,181 3-pointers.

The Cavaliers are the first team in National Basketball Association history to start 8-0 in consecutive postseasons.

They set out to win, of course they set out to win, but in the end there was no shame in losing to the best, and there still isn't, for what it's worth. It's going to be my ninth time in 14 years. Apart from a rocky first season with the franchise, Lowry has arguably been the Raptors' best player, making the all-star team three times with Toronto. However, from there, the Cavs finished the quarter with a 15-5 run and the two teams were tied at 28 after one quarter. If they do in fact complete their march through the East, waiting for them will in all likelihood be a fire breathing octopus of a team that equals Cleveland's prowess on offense and completely shuts down opponents on defense. The damage had been done.

"I'm very impressed", Cavs coach Tyronn Lue said. That's something the Wizards could not accomplish in the opening two games in Boston, both won by the Celtics.

"It's all Kyle Lowry's turtleneck's fault", one person wrote on Twitter about Kyle's appearance during the Raptors' final game of this season, while another added, "Why Kyle Lowry dressed like Wesley Snipes in New Jack City". "I can't really say right now if it's a step back, I just know it's not a step forward". And it only took seven days.

Team president Masai Ujiri now has many hard decisions to make, and not many easy answers presenting themselves.

Perhaps we overestimated the Raptors. We take it to six, maybe. Cleveland was simply that good. This year, he started just five of nine games and averaged 11.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 0.3 blocks in 22.2 minutes per game. His 3.3 threes per game is what truly made him unguardable throughout this series. Outside of last year's NBA Finals, James may have been better than we've seen him.

"Anytime you have No. 23 you can flip every switch you want to", Dwane Casey said of James and the Cavs. 46 minutes? People complain about that. Toronto will have little to no cap room plus the L.A. Clippers' first-round pick (Toronto owes its own first-round pick to Orlando) and that's it to improve this roster.

"They went to him on isos", Raptors point guard Cory Joseph said. "We have another level and we believe we can get there". They've got the floor spread so much. But the Cavaliers simply had too many weapons and did just enough down the stretch to hang on for the win and to move on to their third straight Eastern Conference Finals.

What do you think of Kyle Lowry's fashion choices during Game 4?

As he continues to dominate at age 32, the comparisons with Michael Jordan are becoming more relevant.

To their great credit, the Raptors did not respond to a 12-point halftime deficit by laying down and letting the offseason come to them. What if a transcendent, all-time talent wasn't blocking their path? But that didn't stop Bayless from discrediting James by saying he has way more help than anyone else and insisting he's had an easy road in this year's playoffs. Now the question becomes whether they build on this group or shuffle the deck. They took their shot and, like a number of others before them, they missed.

Lowry led the Raptors past Milwaukee in the opening round of the playoffs and was Toronto's best player in Games 1 and 2 against Cleveland. "That's on upper management". 'We're playing for pride.

Raptors general manager Masai Ujiri meanwhile said the franchise was preparing for a critical summer as they looked to remain competitive. "Do you feel as though that might have been one of the issues?" And having competed against LeBron James and the Cavs, Tucker is fully aware of how far Cleveland, the NBA's reigning champions, can go this spring.
