The meeting on the second day of Trump's visit to Saudi Arabia, part of his first foreign tour since taking office, came hours before the USA president is scheduled to address an Arab Islamic American Summit.

Some lawmakers in both parties raised concerns with Trump's reluctance to publicly vouch for US values in places where people are persecuted.

On Sunday, Israel authorised some economic concessions to the Palestinians that a Cabinet statement said "will ease daily civilian life in the Palestinian Authority after (Trump) who arrives tomorrow, asked to see some confidence building steps".
