Bollywood actress Reema Lagoo passes away

She eventually died of cardiac arrest.

Lagoo was admitted to the hospital late last night after she complained of chest pain, the hospital's Executive Director Ram Naraian told PTI. She was an acclaimed Marathi stage artist. Since then she was a household name all through the 9os.

Reema redefined motherhood by portraying the character of an ideal mother in the Sooraj Barjatya directorial. She co-starred with Salman Khan in Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Hum Saath Saath Hain and Maine Pyar Kiya. She breathed her last in the Andheri hospital.

She played a mother to Madhuri Dixit and Renuka Shahane in this 1994 blockbuster. Reema Lagoo is survived by her daughter Mrunmayee, also an actress. Born Nayan Bhadbhade in 1958, Reema got her gift for acting from her mother who was also a well-known Marathi actress.

How would one feel if after taking care of a son for nearly 20 years he is suddenly taken away from you. The character of a broken mother remains with you, amidst the presence of towering performance of Govinda as Ganga. She was favourite to many in the Film Industry and it is believed that she was very beloved as well. She played the role of Avni "s (protagonist) grandmother who never accepted the love of his son and hence resented his wife and child".

Reema Lagoo has won four Filmfare Awards for Best Supporting Actress. Presently, Reema Lagoo was last seen doing Star Plus' daily soap Naamkarann. During one of her interviews, the talented actress was asked to pick one between Salman and Shah Rukh.And Reema did not pick anyone.
