Yogi Adityanath Orders Ministers to Declare Assets Every Year

People mum on triple talaaq are like criminals: Adityanath

Uttar pradesh chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today equated ractice of triple talaq with the disrobing of Draupadi in Hindu epic Mahabharata and slammed the silence of the politicians and Ulema over it.

"There's a new debate going on in the country nowadays".

Earlier, CM Adityanath voiced support against "triple talaq" and lashed out on those who are silent on the issue. "When she was disrobed, she asked those assembled, 'Who is guilty of this act, this sin?' Nobody was able to utter a word", Mr. Adityanath said.

Adityanath also slammed those who are against implementaion of Uniform Civil Code (UCC), questioning why should there be two sets of laws "when the entire country is one".

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi had urged in that meeting to work relentlessly for socio-economic transformation of society and address the concerns of Muslim women not by creating conflict but through discussions, the state executive may also pass a resolution in this regard.

Meanwhile, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) issued a code of conduct and warned that those who divorce without reasons prescribed in the Sharia (Islamic law) would face social boycott.

AIMPLB general secretary Maulana Wali Rehmani had yesterday said that the board had made a decision to issue a code of conduct and warned that those who give "talaq" (divorce) without following the "Sharia" (Islamic law) will face social boycott.

On his maiden visit outside the state capital, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will review development schemes of Bundelkhand on Thursday where he will be meeting with officials. For him, the interest of the nation was more important than his own ideology. "It is easier to talk to Prime Minister Narendra Modi but it is rather hard to talk to Shivraj Singh Chouhan".

Adityanath's recent remarks about triple talaq have also stirred a positive storm in the state.
