UFC president: McGregor-Mayweather fight on the horizon

'I can't deny him this fight, Conor is having a baby any day now, and after Conor has his baby, Conor and I are going to meet in NY'.

Speculation has been that the highly anticipated boxing match between two of the most polarizing figures in combat sports could be set for sometime in September.

"No, it's not close", White admitted. "No".

"I see this fight happening", White said during a press conference. However, White said it's just a matter of time.

"I think there's a better chance of it happening then me quarterbacking", White said. "Floyd has no problem signing the contract, it's up to Conor". "He's stepped up for the big fights for this company and for me and for Lorenzo [Fertitta], I can't deny him this fight".

Dana White also went off on Jeff Mayweather and Bob Arum during his comments. "In other words, UFC fighters get so much less than boxers do".

Dana White sat down with the media Saturday night to answer questions about UFC 210 which had just concluded.

"If somebody tells you 'I'm gonna take 80 percent of your money, and you're the one that's fighting for it, that's still a tough pill to swallow".

White also said he has had preliminary talks with McGregor about things, and confirmed that he is indeed planning on meeting with the UFC champ in NY to "hammer out" the finer details soon.

"The thing is, the longer it takes for us to come to an agreement, the longer it's going to take for us to negotiate with the Mayweather team".

"Right now he's doing base level cardio training so that when I get back we can go into specific training". But White said he's had talks with Mayweather's team, though there's plenty of negotiating still on the table - including the share of the purse.

Do YOU want to write for GiveMeSport? [Expletive] you, too. What do they know about this fight? And is this not, this fight here, Floyd doesn't make this kind of money without Conor.

According to his coach John Kavanagh, Notorious and his camp are going to extreme lengths to ensure they are ready for the showdown with the undefeated "Money". "After Conor has his baby, Conor and I are going to meet in New York", White said.
