Trading the second overall pick might be hard for the 49ers

Bears Insider John "Moon" Mullin goes position-by-position as the Bears approach the 2017 Draft, taking a look at what the Bears have, what they might need, and what draft day and after could have in store.

Brown, who has the most leverage in the draft, telling the world a team called about the No. 1 pick to take a quarterback could be created to get a team to increase its trade offer and/or push another prospect down the board. "Positive young man", Brown said Wednesday during the team's pre-draft news conference.

North Carolina quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, a Cleveland-area native, is the presumed target for the Browns.

"Could we in theory?"

Now, that's not to say a general manager would release a productive cornerback simply to distract 31 other teams away from his real draft plan. So, enter Samuel. Both Mike Williams and John Ross (with his insane 4.22 in the 40 at the combine) will be gone, and I'm saying that Corey Davis will be a late first round pick by somebody (I can't imagine only two wideouts going in the round one). But if they take Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett with the No. 1 pick as expected, Trubisky could be gone before they pick again at No. 12.

Do you think the #12 pick will be the pick that decides how this Draft goes for the Browns or is it #1/something else? "Whatever team gets him, particularly if it's us, would be proud to have him". The losing - and criticism about his play - took a toll.

"Anything that we do, we're always going to do what we think is in the best interest of our football team, and that's how we approach it", he said. "All of them are really mature young men", Brown said, "and I think would handle themselves well". "We've got to have somebody that wants to move up to that spot".

However, adding Lynch doesn't mean the Raiders will avoid the position in the draft. "It's his system. He understands who would be a fit for us".

Brown said the team will not announce before draft night whom it will select first, but he did say the team has narrowed down its options and received calls about a possible trade for the No. 1 pick. Webb will take some work, and just like Mahomes will most likely spend his first season as a backup, wherever he lands, but if he puts in the work to improve upon his fundamentals, his physical abilities are good enough where he could find himself leading a team early in his career.

"We do not", he said. We spent a lot of time with him, number one, so learned a lot about what makes him tick, what motivates him, how he spends his down time, how he spends his time with his teammates. "I'm excited about having him here, because I feel like it's a new energy and, shoot, we need that".

"Not going to comment on Mitch's history, " Brown said. We appreciate Bruce's expertise. The Browns earned that position by posting a 1-15 record in 2016, when they used three starting quarterbacks and four quarterbacks in all. I can get behind Trubisky a bit, but he is far from my first choice.
