Sunrisers Hyderabad score 159/6 against Kings XI Punjab

IPL 2017 SRH captain David Warner still on good terms with Indians despite bitter Test series

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) captain Glenn Maxwell won the toss and elected to field first against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the match 19 of IPL 2017.

Both, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab are coming off of defeats against Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Daredevils respectively. The hosts would want their batsmen to convert the start into big score while KXIP would want their bowlers to strike at right time to steer them to their third victory. Rashid Khan, their spin sensation, remained unbeaten on 1-ball 6, hitting the final ball of the innings over the boundary ropes.

On the other hand, Kings XI have made one change with Ishant Sharma replacing Varun Aaron. This was followed by Mohammad Nabi's wicket that was picked up by Sandeep Sharma in the last over.

SRH openers David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan have been giving good starts to their innings but the other batsmen, especially those who batted at the middle order would do well by raising the bar. Dhawan was the first to fall, when he departed trying to hook a short ball from Mohit Sharma for a run-a-ball 15.

Moises Henriques then joined Warner, while the KXIP bowlers continued to keep things tight. Warner reassessed the things in the middle and perhaps chose to stay till the end. Moreover, this marked Warner's 34th half century in IPL, the most by any batsman.

A couple of wickets by spinner Axar Patel, including Yuvraj Singh's first-ball duck, and Sunrisers were struggling at 50 for three in the 10th over.

Towards the end of the 18th over, Mohit Sharma picked up yet another wicket - of Deepak Hooda.
