Samsung takes pre-orders for Galaxy Book 12 2-in-1 device

The Galaxy Book 12 with LTE is available from Verizon on April 21st, and you can pre-order both of the Wi-Fi only models on the same date from and "select retailers including Best Buy".

Samsung took the wraps off its new 2-in-1 detachable laptop/tablet hybrid, dubbed the Galaxy Book, at the MWC in February.

The other tablets will be available from a number of select retailers in the United States from the 21st of April, this includes Best Buy and it will be available from more retailers from the 21st of May 2017. Price starts from $630 (approximately Rs 40,705) for the 10.6-inch variant and $1,130 (approximately Rs 73,012) for the 12-inch WiFi variant, while for LTE variant one has to shell out $1,300 (approximately Rs 83,996). It's also worth noting that the Verizon model is unlocked so you can technically use it on any carrier here in the USA and not just on Verizon's network. Like the Surface, the Galaxy Book features support for a keyboard and S-Pen which will ship with the device. However, Best Buy will also exclusively offer the device in the black color option.

With the Samsung Flow feature, users can connect their Galaxy smartphones with the Galaxy book wirelessly to transfer data and sync documents and do other things. All retailers will sell the silver version of the Galaxy Book. However, it also houses Windows 10 Pro and Samsung's enterprise services and support. The 10-inch version uses a lesser Intel Core m3 CPU and a standard FHD display. You'll have to wait a full extra month to get your hands on a Galaxy Book tablet in stores. This variant will start shipping on May 23 and preorders will go live on April 21. A dual-core Intel i5 processor powers the device, which is equipped with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of onboard storage. It has 4GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of eMMC storage.
