Man Utd stun Chelsea to open up PL title race

The 19-year-old England global played a key role in United's 2-0 win over Premier League leaders Chelsea on Sunday, scoring for the second game running to boost their top-four hopes. Chelsea didn't have a shot on target in a league game for the first time in almost a decade. Thibaut Courtois was ruled out due to an ankle problem already before the team travelled to Manchester, but while Chelsea had time to prepare for that, Antonio Conte was forced to make some very quick changes to his tactics following Marcos Alonso's injury in the pre-match training 30 minutes before kick-off.

"But I am really happy with the team and the results, because the Manchester City and Liverpool results on Saturday left us in the position of needing to win". They want to claim a European spot ahead of Arsenal.

The Belgium global twisted the joint on Tuesday at an event organised by the Premier League leaders, and filmed as part of their commercial duties with the National Basketball Association.

"I think they deserved to win", Conte said after the match. It's because those guys demonstrated more ambition, desire, not to mention the highest motivation to become an indisputable victor.

The Italian added he had not been able to "transfer the right concentration, desire, ambition to win this game".

"For this reason we must have great enthusiasm to play these last six games". We still have a four-point advantage which at the beginning of the season we would have taken at this stage.

The performance also bodes well for the remainder of the season, with fifth-placed United four points behind their nearest rivals but boasting at least a game in hand on all of them.

The importance of the win wasn't lost on former Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho. But we are still grinding, we are still pushing because we have this Europa League and the end of the Premier League.

With Romelu Lukaku's blazing scoring form who already has 24 goals this season, Chelsea could drop all three points.

Offering more mobility than Ibrahimovic, Rashford tormented Chelsea's defence all game and showed there is a bright future at United if the Swedish striker decides to end his stay at Old Trafford after just one year.

Marcus Rashford and Ander Herrera scored early in each half as United blew the title race wide open and boosted their own hopes of finishing in the top four with a valuable victory at Old Trafford.

Musing about the defeat, Conte further said, "Against Crystal Palace [a 2-1 defeat] we didn't deserve to lose".

"I can't give up on the Premier League yet".
