Kevin Durant (Left Calf Strain) Questionable For Game 2

Golden State Warriors' Kevin Durant confers with trainer Chelsea Lane after straining his calf during Warriors' 121-109 win over Portland Trail Blazers in Game 1 of NBA Western Conference 1st Round Playoffs at Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif., on Sunday, April 16, 2017. After using a heroic fourth quarter from Draymond Green to lift the team to a victory in Game 1 on Sunday, Golden State carried that momentum over from the beginning.

Steph Curry went 6 for 18 for 19 points and also had six assists and six rebounds.

This seemed to be an inevitability once reports surfaced on Tuesday that Durant suffered a strained calf in Golden State's Game 1 win over Portland over the weeekend. The Warriors' centers dominated the paint, combining to shoot a flawless 11-for-11 from the field and score 23 points in only 25 minutes of action through three quarters. Pat McCaw netted 9 points, starting in place of Durant.

Warriors reserves Shaun Livingston (right index finger sprain/bruised hand) and Matt Barnes (right ankle/foot sprain) are also listed as questionable. In total, the Warriors held the Trail Blazers to 12 third-quarter points, tied for the fewest in a quarter in the Shot Clock Era by a Warriors opponent in the playoffs.

"But if Durant is willing to take strictly a 20 percent raise from this season's salary of $26.5 million up to $31.8 million, the Warriors would not have to fit him into cap space and then could use Bird Rights to re-sign Iguodala and Livingston above and beyond the cap".

The Trail Blazers wouldn't go away quietly, however, and would get themselves back in the game with a strong start to the second quarter.

Personally, I no longer watch the TNT halftime shows, but I have a feeling the Warriors might have as they entered the third quarter and methodically shut down the Trail Blazers.

Wednesday's loss feels like a punch to the gut of the Thunder because they got a big Westbrook night, they had 14 point lead in the second half, and it wasn't enough.

The Warriors will make a final decision on Durant's status prior to tip-off, but Curry sounds confident they can take a 2-0 lead even without one of their primetime players. The Blazers expect Nurkic to play at some stage during the series. Portland played again without center Jusuf Nurkic, and missed him. "If that's the case, I know those guys want to play, tomorrow we'll be ready for whatever lineups we throw out there". The Portland Trail Blazers have won eight of their last nine home games. They kept as close as a starched shirt to CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard. It's time for Game 3 and a chance for Golden State to put Portland on the brink.
