Crystal Palace 2 Leicester 2: Christian Benteke leads Eagles comeback against Foxes

The big German will be suspended for Leicester's second-leg clash with Atletico Madrid

Sam Allardyce says Crystal Palace's 2-2 draw against Leicester City feels like a win given how his side needed to fight back to claim a point in the Premier League encounter.

It was a frustrating moment for Leicester as, the penalty aside, they had contained Atletico relatively well and limited their illustrious hosts to just a few opportunities. In Leicester they were encountering the opposite; Palace's equal in being direct and playing with pace, and a team willing to remain deep and attack on the counter.

A major cause of optimism for Leicester is Wes Morgan's return to full training after being out injured since the victory over Sevilla on March 14.

The England midfielder insisted Leicester's players had been buoyed by their showing in the first leg in Spain, despite the 1-0 defeat to a controversial penalty converted by Antoine Griezmann.

"It's us going against Leicester to try and get closer to being safe".

Gameiro has the pace to catch out a Foxes team needing to chase a goal on the break. We will be ready mentally, physically and tactically'.

He was on the staff for September's 1-0 World Cup qualifying win in Slovakia but made the call to leave when Gareth Southgate took over as senior manager.

It will be a fantastic night and I was wrong about them plenty of times last season, but my gut feeling is that Atletico will score, which will all but end the tie. "It's a well-worked and defensively balanced team and we are also similar like that".

Not for the first time, Leicester City are tasked with confounding bookmakers as well as beating opponents.

The Uruguay worldwide said: "It's true that two years ago, City wanted me when he [Pellegrini] was there".

The hope is that the tactic, famously utilised by Stoke for a number of years with the assistance of Rory Delap, will catch the Spanish side unprepared after the Foxes executed it brilliantly against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Another away team I am expecting to advance comfortably are Atletico Madrid, who displayed their defensive prowess last week by restricting Leicester City to zero shots on target as they gained a 1-0 advantage from the first leg. 50% of their goals have come from set-piece. "We will work on what we have to work on to get the game won and get into the semi-final". A striker like that is fundamental for a team that plays the way Leicester do.

Atletico are bidding to reach the last four for the third time in four seasons following their losses to city rivals Real Madrid in the 2014 and 2016 finals.
