Bucks take 2-1 lead over Raptors

NBA Playoffs: Toronto Raptors at Milwaukee Bucks Game 3

"It's going to be a battle", Casey said looking ahead to Game 3 on Thursday in Milwaukee.

The victor of that series will take on the victor between the third-seeded Raptors and sixth-seeded Bucks in the second round, and this matchup could go the distance of seven games based on the results of the first two.

After combining to score 53 points in Tuesday night's win, Raptors all-star tandem DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry shot just 4-18 from the field in a forgettable performance. He finished with 19 points and eight boards.

At the very least, we can assume the Raptors are not overwhelmed by the moment. "I thought we did a much better job putting on-time, on-target passes". "We'll be fine. We've got to come out there and do what we gotta do Saturday". You can't get rattled and get caught up in the crowd or caught up in the game and do something you normally don't do.

"The thing about a series is you've played this team before so you know them". The duo combined for 21 of Milwaukee's 32 in the opening quarter as the Bucks connected at a 66.7 percent clip and held the Raptors to 4-of-18 shooting.

The Bucks' motto is "Fear the Deer", and the hard-charging Bucks, with a young starting lineup that includes two rookies and a 22-year-old star in Antetokounmpo, had the Raptors running scared from the opening tip-off. "We'll make changes, we made changes going into the second half but whoever goes in has to go in and make a difference and we didn't". Greg Monroe (16 points), Michael Beasley (13 points), Thon Maker (11 points) and Matthew Dellavedova (10 points) joined Middleton and Antetokounmpo in double figures.

By the break, the Bucks were up big, 57-30, Toronto able to drill only its second three-ball late when Delon Wright found net.

Milwaukee didn't have this defense during the regular season, not for three games like we've seen in this series. That's what happened in the second half on Saturday, and the Raptors - owners of the NBA's best offense through mid-January and its sixth-best overall - looked rattled.

DeRozan scored eight but was 0 of 8 from the field. Casey emptied his bench with five minutes to play. The Raptors went just 6-for-22 from three-point range. Milwaukee led 32-12 at the end of the first quarter and went up by as many as 32 points in the first half before settling on a 27-point halftime advantage.

The Spurs are coming off a 96-82 victory in Game 2 on Monday, covering as 10.5-point home favorites.

Matt Carpenter hit a solo home run in the top of the fifth and Kolten Wong, whose career-high seven triples led the Cardinals in 2016, hit his first of the season in the top of the second with the bases loaded. The Raptors who returned from last season's squad each played 20 games in the 2016 playoffs alone.

"I still think we can win the series", Lowry said.
