Bayern can still turn it around at Real, says Ancelotti

Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich was seen as the flagship match of the quarterfinals of Champions League.

Chile worldwide Arturo Vidal headed Bayern into a 26th-minute lead but then missed a penalty on the stroke of half-time.

Two minutes after the break, Ronaldo delivered a right-footed shot from the center of the box to level the match off a solid cross from Daniel Carvajal.

Bayern had to play the final 30 minutes a man down after Martinez picked up two yellows in quick succession for fouls on Ronaldo, but the Bundesliga champions rode their luck to remain in the tie, much to Zidane's annoyance.

And the former Manchester United forward feels honoured by the achievement, telling Madrid's official website: "It's a very big honour to score 100 goals in Europe".

"I don't know who doubted me", Ronaldo told BeIn Sports. We were the better team in the first half. It's a deserved victory and everything is open for the second leg.

Off a well-placed cross by substitute Marco Asensio in the 77th minute, Ronaldo managed to get a boot on the ball, which found its way beyond goalkeeper Manuel Neuer's grasp.

On the other hand, Barcelona has been routed for another time. "If Neuer does not have a day like this, we could have scored more goals".

"Neuer was very good, he made some saves", he said.

"We had everything under control in the first half, but didn't use the room consistently", said Bayern captain Philipp Lahm.

Castilla player Alvaro Tejero has been called up to make up the numbers in Madrid's 18-man squad and Fabio Coentrao could make only his second league appearance of the season.

The four-time world player of the year then slotted in the victor between goalkeeper Manuel Neuer's legs 13 minutes from time. "In the end, they could have scored even more". The Portuguese star ensured Madrid came from behind - after Arturo Vidal's 25th-minute header for Bayern - to put the defending champions on course to reach the semifinals for a seventh successive year.

The matchup between Monaco and Borussia Dortmund was initially scheduled for Tuesday, but was forced to rescheduled following a security incident on Tuesday, which saw the German side's team bus attacked and one player left seriously injured. He didn't' do many mistakes in all match and in the second half he felt more confortable in the midfield.

Cristiano Ronaldo isn't the powerhouse that usually left full-backs smelling grass.

If you go in 2-0 down, regardless of the fact that it wasn't a penalty, it becomes a different game.

"We did it again and after scoring the two goals I was really happy because I helped Real Madrid to win".
