Barcelona-Juventus: Alba starts, Busquets back from suspension

An impressive defensive performance and 0-0 draw at the Camp Nou ensured Juventus' passage to the Champions League semi-finals by knocking Barcelona out.

Barca will be without Neymar at the Bernabeu through suspension and the Catalans will need Lionel Messi back in top form as the Argentine was off target with the only two clear chances the hosts created on Wednesday.

Barca continued to press and substitute Javier Mascherano nearly pulled one back on 81 minutes when he touched a Neymar effort towards goal, but Buffon denied him with a good save.

Of the result, Alves continued: "Neither in their worst dreams [for Barcelona] or in my greatest dreams I did envision this might occur".

The stingy defense carried over into the second leg, with Juventus avenging its defeat to Barcelona in the 2015 Champions League final while continuing to carry the Serie A flag in the competition.

While impressed by his team's defending, Allegri was less than happy with Juve's forwards during the game.

Dortmund pulled one goal back in the 48th minute after Ousmane Dembele found Marco Reus, who made no mistake with his snap shot from inside the box.

- This is only the third time that Barcelona have scored no goals in a two-legged elimination tie in the modern Champions League.

Despite Dybala's double, a Chiellini header and firing plenty of shots at Gianluigi Buffon's goal, Barca did not look capable of repeating their heroic comeback in the last 16 against Paris St Germain.

"If we build on that even more, and continue to evolve, then we can become a truly great team".

But a trip to Santiago Bernabeu for a pivotal match against El Clasico rivals and league leaders Real Madrid coming up on Sunday gives Barca little time to lick their wounds.

"Barcelona failing to score goals over two legs is nearly unheard of".

Messi could have boosted Barcelona's hopes in the 19th minute when a long buildup ended with Luis Suarez setting him up near the penalty spot, only for Messi to fire wide.

While the first 45 minutes saw Juventus break multiple times, they adopted a more cautious approach in the second period, understandably so as they were protecting a lead which seemed to grow more massive as full-time approached.
