United Kingdom pricing for Ryzen 5 CPUs revealed

In a post on its Support pages, Microsoft confirmed the move saying: "This error occurs because new processor generations require the latest Windows version for support".

And this does, in fairness to Microsoft, make some sort of sense. This isn't a matter of just missing out on driver updates to fully support the latest generation of processors on older operating systems - we're talking about a complete blackout of Windows Update on all fronts.

This news was revealed through an addition to Microsoft's Support website, noting that either AMD's Bristol Ridge (mobile, Summer 2016 onward), or Intel's Kaby Lake will be required to access updates.

The new Microsoft Surface Pro is expected to carry the latest Intel Kaby Lake processor chip, but there are rumors that it might be replaced with one of AMD's new architecture chips.

Users have noted that devices running older versions of Windows are unable to download and install vital updates, potentially leaving their PCs at risk of attack.

Microsoft is using yet another aggressive tactic to get more users to upgrade to Windows 10.

And, not surprisingly recommends the follow to resolve the issue: "We recommend that you upgrade Windows 8.1-based and Window 7-based computers to Windows 10 if those computers have a processor that is from [the list]". The speculations suggest that the AMD's newest chipsets will likely be used on the low-cost iMac models this was because, at $499 price, the AMD RYZEN 7 1800x accomplishes tasks better than the Intel i7, which is priced at $1,089 which is twice the price of AMD chips. However, Microsoft eventually related and opted for a provision that only security fixes for Skylake systems running on either Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 would be provided.

This means that anyone with a device running the ten-year-old software only has a month left to upgrade their system, or risk being unprotected against potentially damaging cyber-attacks.

"Error (s) found: Code 80240037 Windows Update encountered an unknown error". But instead users will be updated to new versions of what I expect will become simply "Windows" in the future. The interesting thing is the tech company will introduce a new update of the Windows 10 in April 2017.
