Ivanka Trump Will Have West Wing Office, But No Official Title

TMZ reports that competitor Modern Appealing Clothing has filed a lawsuit that claims Ivanka Trump's clothing line is benefitting too much from her position as First Daughter.

President Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump will receive an office in the West Wing of the White House and a security clearance as she serves, informally, as an adviser to her father, ABC News has confirmed.

The company also accuses the brand of profiting off of its association to the White House, as well as the unlawful marketing practices of government officials, including the counselor to the president, Kellyanne Conway, and even President Trump himself.

The suit seeks unspecified damages for women's clothing retailers working in California, and also seeks an order blocking Trump's products from being sold in the state.

Department store Nordstrom controversially dropped Ms Trump's brand following calls from anti-Donald Trump protesters to boycott the label - but it denied the move was political, saying it was purely down to poor brand performance. But U.S. sales of Ivanka Trump merchandise rose 332% on Amazon, 148% at Macy's and 29.5% at Bloomingdale's in January and February, according to Slice Intelligence data cited earlier this month by CNN Money.

"I will continue to offer my father my candid advice and counsel, as I have for my entire life", Ivanka Trump said in a statement Monday.

MAC is asking that California stops selling Ivanka's brand while it enjoys an allegedly unfair advantage.

Trump, whose husband Jared Kushner is a senior adviser to President Donald Trump, moved to Washington D.C. from NY and stepped down from both the Trump Organization and her clothing brand at the beginning of January.
