Ed Sheeran is coming to GoT

Game of Thrones season 7, consisting of only seven episodes, will premiere on 16 July and it looks like it is all about the clash between fire and ice.

Benioff added: "For years we were trying to get Ed Sheeran on the show to surprise Maisie and this year we finally did it". Showrunners Dan Weiss and David Benioff recently confirmed that indeed there will only be six episodes for the final season, 4 short of the usual 10.

"It's only going to be six episodes for the final season", showrunner David Benioff said.

As for Sheeran's role description and specifics, nothing has been revealed so far.

Game Of Thrones Seventh Season is making a lot of noise lately amongst the fans.

The panel was moderated by Williams as well as her on-screen sister Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark.

The "Shape Of You" singer, Sheeran, confirmed the news through his Twitter account. Mashable quotes Benioff: "Usually it took two minutes to divide the halves, this time it was 18 back and forth emails: 'I'll take this scene if you take that scene, '" he said. Although "Game of Thrones" is already notorious for featuring musical stars, but they often go under the radar.

Maisie Williams previously lashed out at whoever (allegedly) leaked the entire Season 7 rundown, calling it "such a childish, annoying thing to do".

Entertainment Weekly has reported that there will only be just half a dozen of an episodes in the upcoming "Game of Thrones" Season 7. Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol, Coldplay's Will Champion as well as stars from Sigur Rós, and Mastodon also made cameo appearances in the previous seasons.

On the subject of controlling leaks on the show, the anti-spoiler showrunners said they've resigned themselves to the idea that it's "virtually impossible" to prevent.
