Dont'a Hightower Rumored to Visit Steelers as Jarvis Jones Visits Cardinals

20 September 2015 Pittsburgh Steelers Linebacker Jarvis Jones battles with San Francisco 49ers Offensive Tackle Erik Pears in action during a game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field in Pitt

After Chandler Jones got a giant contract extension, the Cardinals knew who their starting outside linebackers will be in Jones and Markus Golden.

Agent Greg Barnett announced on Twitter that his client Jarvis Jones agreed to a deal with Arizona.

Jones was taken 17th overall out of Georgia but failed to establish himself as a consistent threat off the edge in his four years as a Steeler. The Cardinals were looking to add depth to their pass rush after Okafor signed with the New Orleans Saints on Monday. Jarvis Jones will also give the Cardinals talent on their second line of pass-rushers, which Arizona likes to use in a three-linebacker, one-defensive tackle package.

In what could become his final go-round as a member of the Steelers' defense, Jones appeared in 14 regular season games for the playoff-bound franchise.

In four seasons with the Steelers, Jones has started 35 of the 50 games he's played in, and would easily have an immediate impact on defense for the Rams. Jones was on notice when the team declined his fifth-year option last offseason, but he remained upbeat when his playing time diminished, saying he wanted to help the team however he could. Although he has never lived up to expectations, Jones had an uplifting season in 2016.
